Artist Statement:

"Using saturated colors and a hint of surrealism, I create a unique perspective on an ordinary world. Whether it is an effervescent watercolor with back runs and starbursts, or a luminous oil painting emerging from a panel of birch wood, all of my work is vibrant and distinctive."

Each piece of wood is an individual with its own personality and story. I find the narrative within and release it. A knot in the wood, which would normally be considered a flaw, becomes the focal point in which the rest of the painting forms itself. The grain of the wood that flows through the painting is the blood and bones of the composition. It is in these little flaws that something beautiful is formed. It is, after all, the flaws and quarks that make us who we are — unique."
